Discussion of Alcoholism

Your boyfriend sounds a lot like me. I go for a while w/o booze and then all hell breaks loose. I disappear and drink for days at a time. Often this leads to drug use, as well as putting myself in danger of arrest or physical abuse. So far I have been lucky, but luck runs out and I will be in a world of hurt. I think the only reason I've been lucky is because God has a plan for me. That is why I have such remorse and feelings of hopelessness, because I am angry at myself for not living up toHis trust in my goodness as a person. Maybe that's the key; don't beat yourself up! One day at a time is the only way to deal with booze. Try to help your boyfriend remember he's not alone.
