Latin and Family Mottos

Filius Nobis

I have been grappling with the Latin phrase: Filius Nobis. I believe there is some additional meaning than the basic, "our son", or "son [given] to us". The only direct attribution I have is from Vulgate; Isaiah 9:6. Any other ideas? This phrase is standing alone and is not in any context other than it is being used to describe a person very important in the life of another person.

Thanks!
