My Ancestor's Motto!

In Response To: Family Motto? (Peter Randall)

It means "Nothing Out of Time", and it is my ancestor's motto on our Randall Family Coat of Arms. This Coat of Arms was presented to my ancestor, and belongs only to his direct descendants. So unless we are related, this is not your family coat of arms. Too many people these days, with very little knowledge of what a family COA is display them as their own, when actually they have no claim on it. A COA is usually presented to a person of royal/ noble birth, which is then passed down to his direct descendants. The COA consists of different symbols unique to the man it was presented to. My ancestor was presented this Coat of Arms, which has a black shield with three silver demi lions, his crest which is a blue wolf standing on a staff, and his motto, which was "Nil extra numerum", meaning "Nothing out of time". Please do not display our family Coat of Arms, unless you are a direct descendant, and a member of our family tree. Thank you.
