Latin and Family Mottos

Never was any good at Latin!

Can anyone translate the following words of wisdom from Billy Connolly, please? (They never got round to anything more useful than "The girl loves the dove" and "Italy is a peninsula" in our Latin lessons!)
"NEVER EAT ANYTHING THAT COMES IN A BUCKET"
