Latin and Family Mottos

"u" or "o"

Hello,

Am new to this site and just hoped someone could help me out with a spelling query.

I am trying to get some information on my family surname "SPENCE" and was wanting some help with the motto.

I am aware that the motto is "VIRTUTE ACQUIRITUR HONOS" (honour is acquired by virtue) but have noticed that some sites list spell the sceond word ACQUIRITOR.

Can ANYONE tell me what the correct spelling of acquiritur/acquiritor is? Cheers!

L
