PTSD with Clinical depression

I was 5 years old and my mother felt she couldn't control me so when I would upset her she would make me climb the attic stairs and close the attic door and turn lights off and I realize that she never mean't to hurt me, made me sit for several hours in total darkness. I tried to make games out of it when young and grew up and thought nothing else about it.It continued and added depression and became clinical depression and I had an internet friend that I ended up with a one night stand. Time went by and I married my girlfriend and she found out because the other woman talked to my ex wife.We are separated and I found out about my illnesses at the age of 50. It has been a tough road but feel I am coming out of the bottom of the barrel. I would appreciate any comments of support either way.
