My father is going through this too. We put him in a group home since a case worker at the hospital said it is not fair to my kids or my husband to bring him home and try and take care of him. Group homes are not cheap but hopefully the state long term care will step in. I am very confused with this whole thing. At least with Alzheimers there are symptoms and signs and stages. With the alcohol induced dementia it seems there are no clear answers. My dad is only 61 and I have no idea what his prognosis is.
