My daughter abused alcohol for many years (Vodka)till she wound up in hospital unable to walk. She has no short term memory and is incapable of simple tasks.
She gets angry and smokes incessantly. She takes Aricept 5mg, but it doesn't seem to help. The neurologist states thatshe will always be this way. It is not reversible. Very hard to live with especially since she is only 42 and my constant worry is what will happen to her when I die. There is noone to take over or take care of her. We get SSI and I am on Social Security but still have to work. I am learning from this site that it is a common problem. Alcohol is worse than smoke or any environmental problem.
