My boyfriend and I just came back from visiting his brother in Georgia who was diagnosed with alcohol induced dementia. My boyfriend feels like his brother does not have this diagnoses because he is able to give directions around the town that he has raised in all his life, but yet he doesn't remember to shower, shave or any other everyday things. So my question is can your short term memory be gone and your long term memory still be intacted with alcohol induced dementia or is it something else? Thank you for any help!!!
